Maggie Grace was born Margaret Grace Denig, September 21 in 1983. She is an American actor best known for her character Shannon Rutherford in ABC TV show Lost. Her parents had divorced and she moved with her mom to Los Angeles. However, in 2001, despite difficulties with money, she was able to secure her first big performance in the video online show Rachel's Room as the main character. In 2002, she was awarded a Young Artist Award in 2002 for her portrayal as Murder In Greenwich of 15 year young Martha Moxley as a murder victim, she went on to be awarded. In 2004, Grace was chosen to play Shannon Rutherford in the television series Lost where she was the main actor for the first two seasons winning an Screen Actors Guild Award shared with the ensemble cast. In 2008, she reprised the role Taken 2 (2013) and Taken 3 (2015). The actress also appeared in Alice as Alice in Malice in Wonderland which is an updated adaptation of Lewis Carroll's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Grace played Shannon's part as Shannon in Lost for two episodes. This included the finale of the series. In 2013, she appeared in Season 6 of Californication. The actress plays Faith as a groupie, and also an muse for the stars that catches the attention of Hank Moody played by David Duchovny. She is part of Gyllenhaal's family, and is the older sibling of Jake Gyllenhaal. Her acting career started as a young teenager with small parts in a few films directed by her father. She also worked with her brother on the 2001 popular film Donnie Darko. She appeared next in Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind as well as Mona Lisa Smile (2003). Gyllenhaal was praised by critics for both her performances as the main character of Secretary (2002) which is which is an erotic romantic drama and Sherrybaby (2006). The actress was also nominated for The Golden Globe Award. The Dark Knight, which was released in 2008, following several highly successful films including World Trade Center (2006) and World Trade Center (2006), earned Gyllenhaal more fame. As a single mom in Crazy Heart (2009) she got a nomination in the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress. The following years she appeared in comedy and dramas: Nanny McPhee & the Big Bang (2010) Hysteria 2011 and Won't Back Down 2012. In addition to her role as a Secret Service agent, she has also appeared as a character in White House Down (2013) as well as Frank (2014).
